OUR JOURNEY: FROM PASSION TO PURPOSE
Sayora’s journey began in the culturally rich city of Lucknow- a city known for its centuries old tradition of Nawabi grace, poetic charm and world- famous feather light hand embroidery. With Sayora, tradition meets ease. Fashion moves with you- from the beauty of nature and textile mastery in art, architecture and culture, intricate creations and the new age
world to the home bound handloom traditions of India.
The Beginning – 2024: Identifying the Gap
The seeds of Sayora were planted when founder Govind Pratap Singh inspired by the beauty and persistence of India’s traditional hand skilled artists. He saw the building of textile capabilities, the diversification of its product based, and emergence which gave birth to Sayora.
His vision was to display and make accessible our rich and priceless collection of the Indian handloom and handicrafts from the hinterlands of India with a contemporary twist.
We’ve had the joy of dressing—urban professionals and discerning NRI patrons—looking for ethnic wear that brought together:
- Rich traditional Heritage: Hand-driven finest artisanal excellence.
- Modern Ensembles: Creations designed especially for comfort, ease, and everyday hustle.
- Conscious Sustainable Creation: Natural processes and mindful fabrics used to reflect mindful Indian ethnic fashion.

This realization made Govind Pratap Singh to create a means for the present-day woman to feel the soft delicate contemporary drapes promoting high-quality, artisan-made traditional clothing.
Forming the Foundation: Our Artisan Family
With this understanding, Sayora began forming a relationship with the weavers and creative art workers, listening to their stories- from the
loom to the hands of embroiders, we’ve worked with-
● Rajasthani Embroidery Artists: Known for their intricate hand embroidery and vibrant hues, alongside with mirror work and traditional
marwadi patterns that adds meaning to festive wear.
● Banarasi Brocade Weavers (Uttar Pradesh): Known to create luxurious zari designs—filled with Mughal- Inspired floral motifs, each piece carries a touch of luxury and heritage.
● Kanchipuram Silk Weavers (Tamil Nadu): Known as masters for transforming lustrous mulberry silk to graceful drapes, with contrast borders and temple motifs.
● Patola Ikat Weavers (Gujarat): Known for their rare double-ikat technique, where both warp and weft are prepared together before
weaving showcasing exact replica from both sides.
● Ajrakh Block Printers (Kutch & Rajasthan): Known for natural dyeing and patterned printing, they hand-carve wooden blocks to printing—reflecting an earthy connection to geometry, nature, and tradition.
● Kalamkari Artists (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana): Known for using a pen and natural dyes, these art skilled workers, paint or block-print mythological narratives, florals, and cultural-inspired scenes on soft, breathable fabrics.
● Jamdani Weavers (Bengal): Known for the technique of hand-inserting motifs directly into the loom, creating a translucent fabric embellished
with floating flowers, vines, and geometric expressions.
● Kota Doria Weavers (Rajasthan): Known for their airy- breathable weaves, these craftsmen creaste lightweight, feathered fabrics that blend softness with strength.
Our Growth Story: 2024–2025
2024 – The Foundation Year
This year was focused on establishing a rich cultural and high-quality production system for Sayora. In accordance to fulfil this, we have:
● Built long term relationships with artisans across India for delivering the best to our customers
● Instead of mass-market production, opted for sustainable quality fabric and minimal waste production.
● Launched our first premium ethnic wear line featuring suit sets, flowing sarees, chic co-ords, indo-western outfits, and pure suit fabrics
for diversified silhouette and occasions.
● Built trust with customers- promising exclusive handcrafted Indian ethnic wear that offers sustainability and true to its cost.
2025 – Rising Recognition
Sayora expanded its presence across India, growing reach beyond its home city. We:
● Launched customised festive, seasonal and style-collections showcasing the versatility to celebrate every occasion.
● Expanded our wings across India and NRI customers base through authentic Indian hand curated ensembles.
● Were known as an emerging premium ethnic wear brand from Lucknow that offers long time commitment for presenting our Indian legacy with sustainable modern wear.
● Continued promoting eco-friendly fabrics, durable material and finest artisanship towards our commitment to slow fashion.
